Rating hovering at the 30% mark, MBC Coffee prince 1st Shop will bid audience goodbye on the 28th. Coffee Prince is a pop idol drama, its depicts the love and lives of the youth in a very romantic way. Since the 90s, audiences begins to like pop idol dramas, but of late had received lukewarm responses. Reasons being, the storyline and the characters portrayed does not change, which the audiences are getting tired of, resulting in a drop of ratings. The target audience of Pop Idol drama are of the 20s, 30s, and as their lifestyle changes for the better, they are getting harder to be attracted to the storylines of the dramas. Even so, Pop Idol drama Coffee Prince 1st Shop had attracted so many Coffee Addicts, and its popularity remains high, why so?
Not trapped within the cliché of Romance drama Coffee Prince’s main theme is the same as all dramas, typically loved by younger generation. But Coffee Prince allows Go Eun-Chan (YEH) to cross-dress, which differs from the cliché of other dramas. In a environment that veryone around EC knows the true about her gender and allowing HK (GY) to fall into frustration of a ‘gay’romance, hypes up the audiences about “When the truth of EC gender will be revealed?” and “What will happen when that happens?” Though Coffee Prince gay theme will make the mood of the drama ‘heavy’ but gave the audience a ‘cool’ impression. Furthermore, the spats between EC and HK are frequent but the durations are not long. HK is a 3rd Generation heir apparent, EC has to behave like a man for the sake of livelihood. But the contrast of their birth did not contribute too much of an obstacle to their relationship, this is a new attempt so not to allow the theme to fall into the cliché of typical drama. Sensuous lines from Male actors and the assembly of ‘beautiful’ men of the CP becomes the highlight of the drama. Accentuate the traits of the artistes Many viewers are looking forward to the idea of YEH cross-dressing as a guy, wondering whether she will able to have a breakthrough with the portrayal. But after the airing, viewers noticed that there’s not much change in their acting. Instead, the artistes need not change their acting due to casting of artistes that is similar to the roles. ”Round faced YEH basically has handsome features, in her past performances gave the impression of being active and modest. This is reasons why YEH is selected for the role. The original writer/scriptwriter Lee Jeong-e, on the role of HK had said: “GY is the most suitable for the role”. In reality, there is no difference in the the performance of YEH in Coffee Prince and the 2006 MBC Goong. GY portrayal of HK reprised the role that he had in SBS 《饼干老师星星糖》(Biscuit teacher). But the focus is on the original acting of the artistes which gives the viewers a new ‘feel’. , Coffee Prince 1st shop stand out when comparing to many typical pop idol dramas which concentrate on the numbers of stars appearing and the change of acting by the artistes. After the Samsung fridge's advertisements came out and have had positive feedbacks from the consumers, Yoon Eun Hye became a familiar household name. Recently, Yoon Eun Hye has re-appeared with the new product advertisements for the famous sunglasses' company: Ray-Ban. Goong lovers, take note! Your favorite faux royal couple, Yoon Eun-hye and Joo Ji-hoon, just may be teaming up again in a new drama. The two former onscreen lovebirds are top picks for the lead couple in MBC’s new Personal Taste [개인의 취향 -- working title]. One rep from the drama side explained that the production company is nearly finished with its casting and contract issues, and put the likelihood of a Yoon-Joo match-up at “very high.” The plot: A restless girl wants a gay (male) friend, ’cause fag hags are cool. The guy wants a place to live, so he pretends to be gay as they live together. In an interesting genre pair-up, we have the director of the jokey rom-com Fantasy Couple (Kim Sang-ho) and the writer of the weepie Sad Sonata (Lee Sung-eun) working together. Okay, first of all, we have several favorite kdrama clichés built right into the premise, including two of my favorites (cheesy but effective!): enforced proximity (the better for falling in looove!) and mistaken/pretend identity (to add angst when the pretender has to unveil his/her true self). This sounds like a hasty potluck of past hits, drawn upon in hopes of re-creating prior successes, like a Coffee Prince meets Fantasy Couple meets Bottom of the Ninth with Two Outs. Second of all, it sounds AWESOME.

August 2nd, 2008 - Yoon Eunhye to Open First Fan Meet in Japan
Actress Yoon Eunhye will be holding her first solo fan meeting in Japan. The fan meet will be held on the 19th of September at Tokyo Nakano Sun Plaza Hall.
The fan meet titled "Birthday" was coined as a thank you to all the Japanese fans who have been visiting Korea year after year to celebrate Yoon Eunhye's birthday.
Through "Goong" Eunhye was introduced and welcomed by the Japanese as an actress, and through "Coffee Prince" Eunhye has firmly established herself as an an accomplished actress, capturing the Japanese audience/fans.
The two hour long fan meet will session a talk show, never-before-seen-footages of Eunhye, hand-shaking time and many more events for the 2000+ registered fans.

Actress Yoon Eun Hye who has been away from the limelight for quite some time published photos of herself to tell fans about her recent happenings.
Since the completion of MBC “Coffee Shop 1st Prince” drama, Yoon Eun Hye has been on vacation with the occasional CF filming in between. On the afternoon of 7th June, through her Cyworld minihompy, she posted photos of herself in Paris. Wearing a casual t-shirt plus brown scarf wrapped around her neck, Eun Hye looked really relaxed and enjoying a slow walk through the streets of Paris.
Yoon Eun Hye expressed, "Paris always gives me a different feeling everytime I go there. Althought Paris is still Paris, but I always see things that I never seen before in the past. Maybe because I always use a different perspective to feel Paris or because I’ve matured. Hopefully, I can see another side of Paris when I’m here again next time."
Yoon Eun Hye had lent her vocals to Mighty Mouse “I Love You” song a while back and the song is still highly popular now.
Yoon Eunhye is very likely to be casted for the lead role in a movie called "Naya". (translation: "It's Me", "I Am", or it could be the name "Naya" )
The director of "My Father" (starring Daniel Henney) will be directing this movie. The plot is similar to "I Am Sam" (starring Sean Penn). The film is about a single mother who has the mental capacity of a child and has a 5 year old son and the film is about the two and the many events and happenings that surround the two.
The reason why the casting of Eunhye is not "fully" confirmed is because the producers are still waiting on the confirmation of the sponsors for the film. Once that has all been decided, the producers will officially announce the cast information.
During the phone conversation between Daily Zoom and Director Hwang, Dir. Hwang revealed that, "Nothing has been confirmed at this point in time... it is a true fact that we are actively considering the casting of Yoon Eunhye, however, as we have yet to decide on our sponsors, we are currently at the stage of waiting." Further to this, without revealing any actress's names, Dir. Hwang added that, "once the sponsors have been confirmed we were advised [by the actress] that we will hear from them soon after".
Regarding the story of the film, Dir Hwang explained that its about, "a not-so-bright mother and the process of her raising her son."

April 25th, 2008 - Eunhye Wins Best Actress at 44th Baeksang Awards
Yoon Eunhye, the unexpected winner of the Best Leading Actress Award, showed both her gratitude and regret to fellow nominee in competition and great senior, Kim He Ae.
As soon as the awards ceremony were over, Yoon Eunhye had run up to Kim He Ae, saying apologetically, "Senior, I am extremely sorry," and greeted her respectfully.
In return, Kim He Ae embraced Yoon Eunhye in a hug and told her "It's alright. You did very well," and displayed her top star-like generosity.
Yoon Eunhye is the youngest actress to ever win the "Best Actress Award" at Baeksang. Also, she's the youngest actress to ever win a Grimme and Top Excellence Award from MBC.

April 9th, 2008 - Yoon Eunhye Has Recently Shown Her Daily Life Through a TV Commercial
During the filming of the TV commercial of "Eye2o," which is an artificial tear drop solution of Samil Pharmaceuticals, she shows in a very natural way how she uses Eye2o in her daily life. She shows how she uses the Eye2o solution whenever she has time all day long starting in the morning in her bedroom, on the streets, and at the studio. The highlight of the commercial was the scene in her bedroom. It was a similar version to her "seducive bedroom self images" she recently posted on her personal homepage.
All the people concerned to the commercial were enthusiastic about Yoon Eunhye saying "The clean and pure image of the bedroom decorated in white perfectly matched Yoon Eunhye’s image."
Eye2o is gaining popularity as "Yoon Eunhye’s Tears," ranking second place in terms of sales within the industry after being introduced to the market last October.
Yoon Eun Hye: Actress. Former member of Baby Vox. During an episode of Happy Shares Company "Happiness of 10K won" Suh In Young, from Jewelry, had even prepared the "1000won supper" for this close friend.
The two bare many similarities - They are of the same age, had debuted during their school years, and the groups for which they were members of did not make it to the best of the best and have been revived by their respective agencys, (ie, Baby Vox > Baby Vox Rev and the new members of Jewelry). Here's a surprise, Yoon Eun Hye and Lee Dong Gun suddenly sings a duet in the form of a Salad Song. It's a laid back number, good listening for a lazy Saturday morning.
Yoon Eun Hye doesn't necessary have the strongest voice, but she can carry a tune and sings this song about fresh fruit and vegetable (no?) with ease. And Lee Dong Gun (who just released his first full length album entitled My Biography) provides the same laid back vocals in this song.

Of course, any Korean girl looks looks pretty in a Korean traditional dress. But if we had to choose... who would you choose? Lee Yeon-hee... or Yoon Eun-hye?
And to think, we almost had Joo Ji-hoon (Devil) and Yoon Eun-hye (Coffee Prince) back together in Personal Taste [개인의 취향], playing a straight guy masquerading as a gay guy to live with a straight girl (who harbors a crush on her gay friend but thinks he’s playing for the other team). Now, not only will these two not be appearing in the drama together, the entire drama production has fizzled. The drama had been in the pre-production stages, but PD Kim Sang-ho (Fantasy Couple) explains that the reason for this project’s demise was due to a difficulty in casting. Yoon Eun-hye pulled out of the project while the scripts were being written and they were unable to recast. Furthermore, Joo Ji-hoon’s involvement in the project was greatly “exaggerated” by the press. Bummer. Television drama ratings have been released for the month of September in Thailand, and six of the top ten series are Korean dramas. AGB Nielsen Media, a media research company, released the numbers, and the 2006 KBS trendy drama The Vineyard Man, starring Yoon Eun-hye and Oh Man-seok, came out on top. Although its initial run in Korea garnered low ratings (it was up against juggernaut Jumong), The Vineyard Man was the most-watched drama by Thai viewers last month.
